Get Dates Through Social Media
Using social media like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for dating is not a new thing. In fact, social media has turned out to be one of the top free places to a date. Picking a date on any social media site is not as easy as it may sound and the sad truth is many people are horrible at it. To give you some insight, one of my female dating coaching clients get many friend requests from people with some cheesy pick up line or compliment. Every girl adores compliments, but being desperate through social media will make anyone look like a pervert. To turn the tables, if you never ever contacted a person on Instagram whom you liked, it may be time to take it next level. OK, I know I am making it sound fun and easy but there are some commandments which need to followed to pick the best date and go out for a romantic dinner with your hot Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn friend. Alright, so let’s learn how we can find your hot date through the use of your social media.
Here’s the basics
The second best thing for getting to know someone is through the use of social media. These days people have no time for an active social live. So they use social media to stay connected to the world. So one day you are sitting at your desk, doing nothing and start scanning the media sites, when you simply visit your friend’s profile. Suddenly you were stuck on a pretty/handsome face smiling at you from a display picture. Obviously you have learned their name, basic information, so we can move on to the next step. Single people on Facebook or any other social media site typically get tons of friend requests. So there is good chance of you being placed into the black hole of requests. Instagram dating works the same way.
Tips and Tricks
So first and foremost, do not send a friend request straightaway. The chances of getting blocked and being marked as a spam is extremely high . You have to have to make an effort if you want to get dates through social media. Use all your charm to woo that special one. It may require more work than finding someone out in public, but it seems like nowadays that is not so easy either. Do not go with an impulsive message on her/his wall directly that will only make things go terribly awry for you. Any guy or girl likes to see a confident and nice date but a desperate message will kill any suspense or romance he or she is looking forward too. Then what exactly am I supposed to do? Well there are two scenarios when it comes to strangers (or even with people who you haven’t spoken too in a long time). Both of you may and may not have a mutual friend, so if you have mutual friend/friends, you have the freedom to use the Facebook POKE….
Poking isn’t Over
Yes, poking still exists but nobody seems to realise. It’s one of the original ways to get dates through social media and it still works. Your desired will be notified you poked them the next time he or she logs in. Now here comes the most crucial part. If the poke is returned, they have gone through your profile and must have found you interesting. At this point, you may have to take your chances. When this Poking activity has been done 2-3 times, it may be time to drop him/her a message. Make sure it is a striking good conversation and you have to be witty in your first impression. How you do this varies on individual style. Coming across as desperate and dull is a big turn off for most anyone.
You can always try “Hey poke buddy, how are you?” Or if you have known the person for years, you could write “It’s been a long time, how are you?” If he/she is not within your network, you have to take your chances by simply dropping her message, without trying to come across as a desperate stalker. If you choose this route do not use lines like, “Can I be your friend” or “Do you want to friendship with me.” These lines are out-of-date and make you seem boring. You are going to have to stand out so be humorous, decent and interesting enough for him/her to reply and stay engaged in the conversation. Did you receive any reply? If not, try again on some other one but If you did then there you go. If there is no message after the second try then stop. Instead be smart and move on to the next attractive profile. It’s easy to get dates through social media sites but maybe try another. Instagram dating is very hot right now.
What to Talk About
Talking about common interests is strongly advisable and is sure to be a safe topic to start with. It makes you appear more open towards the other person and is the best way to know the other person. Nothing opens up people more than talking about what they love to do for fun and their interests. Remember to be a good listener, otherwise you will end up labeled as a jerk. The key to building any good foundation is just by having a good conversation. By actively listening and engaging in good conversation striking a date on any social media site will be child’s play when you know to play by the rules. Now that you have the attention and full interest of the person, next step is to talk about personal lives. Once you reach this level, it is better to carry out conversations through text message or phone calls. If you follow the recommended tricks there should be no major issues into finding a date through social media. The next thing is to have some great first date ideas to back this up.
Social media such as Facebook and Twitter are nothing more than an interesting story where you are the main character. It all depends on you how you project yourself and whether you choose to be Miss popular or Mr. stalker. If you want to get dates through social media sites, you are responsible to make connections with the other characters.
