Finding the right place to go for your early dates can be a big challenge. Restaurants and cinemas are probably the safest options, but there will come a time when you need to do something else. After all, you can’t go on every single date to one of these places.

Is it a good idea to go to a sporting event together, though? If one of you is a big sports fan but the other isn’t then it is an idea that you will want to think about carefully before deciding. What are the main factors to think about?

Relax in a Crowd

One of the most difficult things about your first few dates is how to relax. It is only natural for us all to feel nervous in this sort of situation. This can make it awkward when you are sitting face to face with your date and wondering what to say next.

By going to a stadium and watching a game together, things are a lot easier in this respect. You can get caught up in the game and make comments about the action from time to time. Just approach it with an open mind and try to enjoy the whole occasion from start to finish.

A lot of people find that this is a far more relaxing approach than going on a more intimate date. It is certainly worth a try if you feel that you might be intimidated or nervous in a more traditional one on one setting.

Get Used to Each Other’s Tastes

If your date is a huge sports fan, then the sooner you get used to that the better. You might find that you end up liking their favorite sport if you just give it a try. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if you could enjoy this hobby together in the future?

It is certainly worth giving it a try and seeing whether you have a good time at a sporting event. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t yet a sports expert. Whether you go to football games between NFL playoff favorites, to a big NBA game, or something else, you should easily pick up the basics if you make an effort to do so.

Your partner is sure to appreciate the fact that you make an effort to share their love of sports with them. Ideally, you will discover that watching sport together is something that you both enjoy, so there is no need for your date to worry about whether they can share their sporting trips with you in the future.

Build Some Special Memories Together

Your first dates shouldn’t be just a struggle to get through the evening without any problems. Instead, it should be a chance to start building up some special memories as a couple. If things go well then in the years to come you can look back fondly on these dates.

Going to a big sporting event is one easy way to make the occasion highly memorable. If it turns out to be a great match, then it is a shared memory that you will have to look back on for the rest of your time together.

Don’t just focus on the sport that is going on, though. This is also a fantastic opportunity to try some different food and to get caught up in a fun, exciting atmosphere. You might discover that you like the event just as much as your sport-loving partner.

If you choose the event wisely then a date at a sporting event can be a smart choice. Don’t rule it out without at least giving it a try.
